OGDENSBURG -- The Ogdensburg Salvation Army’s commercial freezer at its food pantry has failed.
Early estimates to replace the freezer are exceeding $3,500, plus hundreds more to replace the food items, according to Captain Shane Budd.
The food pantry has been seeing about 40 families per week. The need to replace the freezer is immediate, Budd says.
“We welcome the support of the community in replacing the freezer and food items.”
The loss comes only days into The Salvation Army’s annual Red Kettle campaign to help those in need throughout the year, including support for the food pantry.
Donations may be made at The Salvation Army Corps, 401 Franklin Street, in Ogdensburg or by calling Shane at 393-3351.
