OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg City Councilor David Price has called for a public hearing to alter the city code, but wouldn't specify details about what the resolution would actually address.

Price said that the resolution would be revealed seven days prior to the Nov. 25 hearing as required by law.

When asked following the meeting, no councilors would share information about the proposal.

However, Price alluded that it was related to requests from the incoming council members who asked the city to hold off on approving any union contracts.

Price is among three city councilors who lost in a recent election along with mayor Wayne Ashley.

"They are asking us to stop being councilors so they can take over anything and everything. So, there are things that have to take place so that we can continue to act as councilors for the benefit of the citizens.”

Councilor Tim Davis, who was also voted out in the recent election, said the sitting council was not "lame duck" and intended to continue working despite election results.
