OGDENSBURG — Ogdensburg City Council approved two union contracts Tuesday following an executive session.
Both contracts include employee raises that will gradually increase to 3.5% from 2020 to 2024.
One contract is for the CSEA hourly unit, which includes public works, recreation and dispatch employees. That contract will begin with a 2% increase in 2020.
The contract will move all employees to bi-weekly direct deposit and includes minor adjustments to uniform allowance and other items.
The second contract is for the CSEA salaried unit,, which includes City Hall employees, administrative clerks and wastewater treatment plant employees and will be begin with a 2 percent increase in 2020.
The contract also moves all salaried employees to direct deposit for payroll.
According to information provided by City Manager Sarah Purdy, the total cost of wage increases for both units in 2020 is $73,301.
Purdy says switching employees in both units to Excellus hybrid Health Insurance Plan reduces premium costs increases.
