OGDENSBURG -- Ogdensburg City Council appointed two new members to the City Charter Commission, to replace two others who were forced to resign due to scheduling.

On Monday the city council appointed to Joseph Basta and John Wilson to the commission.

The other commission members include Chair Fred Bean, Laura Pearson, Sean McNamara, Douglas Loffler, Andrew Putmam, Kevin Kendall, Storm Cilley, Christopher Pitcher, and Sean O'Brien and Scott McRoberts.

Donald O'Shea and Laura Ashley resigned their positions.

Ogdensburg’s Charter Review Commission has been formed and will meet again

The 10-member commission will review the city charter and make recommended changes. Members were appointed in April.

A municipal charter is a document that defines the organization, powers, functions and essential procedures of the city government. Reviews of the charter are held every 10 years.

The next meeting will be held June 6 at 6 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Dobisky Center. It was originally scheduled for May 26, but was cancelled due to lack of quorum.
