OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce has unveiled its video submission to the HGTV Home Town Takeover.

The popular television show chooses a lucky municipality with a population of less than 40,000 and gives it a facelift.

Chamber Director Laura Pearson is hopeful Ogdensburg’s video can help convince the show's producers that the city is the perfect location.

The video, which was filmed and edited by Chip Bracy, gives an interesting overview of the city. It highlights its waterfront resources, discusses the damage done to downtown during urban renewal, features the efforts to restore Fort de La Presentation, and the city’s many historical connections.

The video also includes brief testimonials from Ogdensburg Mayor Jeffrey Skelly, Pearson and Ogdensburg Historian Julie Madlin. It also features music from local musician Nick LaDuc.

At the meeting Pearson said she truly enjoyed helping create the video and thanked the many people who helped make it a reality.

Council applauded her efforts.
