NORFOLK – Three people from Norfolk and one from Massena have been charged by state police with first-degree burglary after they allegedly entered a residence without permission, became involved in an altercation, and left with cash and a cell phone, according to state police.
At about 8:44 a.m. Saturday, troopers responded to a residence on Lime Hollow road in Norfolk, for a report of an assault.
An investigation revealed that 36-year-old Heather R. Baxter of Norfolk, Michelle L. Caringi, 44, Norfolk, 34-year-old Mark P. Perkins, Massena, and Tracy A. Durant, 40, Norfolk, entered the residence there without permission.
An altercation ensued, which led to Baxter, Caringi, Perkins and Durant leaving the residence in possession of cash and a cell phone belonging to the victim.
All four suspects were arrested and charged with one count each of first-degree burglary.
Following arraignments in the Town of Norfolk Court, Baxter was remanded to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $500 cash bail or $1,000 bond.
Durant was released under the supervision of probation.
Perkins was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail with no bail due to prior felony convictions, troopers said.
Caringi was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail or $2,000 bond.
