CANTON -- The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging and the county Council of Senior Citizens is accepting nominations for the 2019 St. Lawrence County Senior Awards.
The awards include Senior Citizen of the Year, Outstanding Contribution by a Senior Citizen, and the Jacqueline Sears Volunteer Award (J. Sears award nominee can be of any age).
If you know an exceptional senior who volunteers in the community, please nominate them.
For information on award qualifications and to receive nomination forms, contact the Office for the Aging at 315-386-4730.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 15.
Senior Award winners will be announced at the May Fest.
The Office for the Aging provides service and advocacy for county residents 60 years and older.
Programs and services includes: Nutrition Centers and Home Delivered Meals; Home Care Services; Family Caregiver Support; Senior Community Service Employment Program; Medical Transportation; Legal Services; Health Insurance Information Counseling and Assistance.
The office’s mission is to develop a service system specifically designed to best meet the social and human needs of the elderly.
