One more death but no new COVID cases in St. Lawrence County reported Tuesday

St. Lawrence County Emergency Services says a second COVID-19 death but no new cases were reported in St. Lawrence County, today, Tuesday, April 28.

The additional death is according to the state Department of Health, local health officials said. No additional details were available.

"Although no new cases were reported today, we still want to stress that we have not reached our peak. It is very important all residents continue to stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering and stay six feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work, wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly," the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department said.

They say 98 people have recovered and nine are hospitalized.

The total number of infections in St. Lawrence County remains at 177.

The Public Health Department says 1,465 people had been tested as of April 26, the most recent date for which data was available.

Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only.
