No new cases of COVID-19 reported in St. Lawrence County Tuesday, May 12

No new cases of COVID-19 were reported to the St. Lawrence County Public Health Department today (Tuesday, May 12).

The total number of confirmed positive cases to-date to 194 Public Health said in a press release today.

One hundred fifty-two cases have been released from isolation.

Four cases are currently hospitalized.

Two deaths have occurred; this fatality data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on May 12 before 2 p.m.

County Public Health said 3,573 people have been tested for COVID-19 as of May 11. This testing data comes from the New York State Department of Health and was last updated on May 12 before 2 p.m.

Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only.

Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m.-4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:

• Clifton-Fine Hospital, 315-848-8049; and

• St. Lawrence County Public Health Department, 315-229-3448.

The Public Health Department says its "very important" all residents continue to stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work.

County residents are encouraged to wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean and disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly.
