MASSENA -- Hands-on outdoor activities for ages 6-14 are available for free each month at Nicandri Nature Center.
Jr. Earthkeepers is a club for ages 6-10 that meets the second Saturday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This year’s theme is Animal Keepers. Participants will meet several types of animals at the nature center, learn about their proper care, animal behavior, and more.
Adventurers, a club for ages 11-14, meets the third Saturday from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. New outdoor skills will include camping skills, fishing, hiking, knots, skiing, snowshoeing, survival skills and more.
Earthkeepers is an environmental club for ages 14-18 interested in environmental or science fields that meets the fourth Saturday from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The club involves field work, data collection, and more while learning about earth’s systems. It will focus on animal behavior this year.
Participants can attend one or all of the monthly meetings. No pre-registration is required; join anytime through the year, Bring outdoor clothing and a water bottle.
