EDWARDS -- Family nurse practitioner John Welborn IV has joined the medical staff of St. Lawrence Health System’s Gouverneur Hospital.
Welborn earned his master of science in nursing at SUNY Upstate Medical University, and his registered nursing degree from SUNY Canton.
His prior experience includes working for the Advance Asthma and Allergy of NNY, and Cardiology Associates of NNY. He also served in the United States Army, Infantry, Fort Drum.
As a nurse practitioner, Welborn is qualified to diagnose medical problems, order treatments, perform non-surgical procedures and minor surgical procedures, prescribe medications, and make referrals for a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions, SLHS said in a news release.
