Kim is practicing with fellow gastroenterologists Chinyere Nwosu, DO, and Rajiv Shah, MD, and David Nevins, PA, and Wendy Wais, NP, at 15 Raymond St.
Kim earned his medical degree at Yonsei University, College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea. He conducted his fellowship in gastroenterology, and his residency at Maimonides Medical Center, Brooklyn.
The doctor noted he wants to promote digestive health in all his patients and make them feel well.
“I want to listen to what my patients have to tell me, and listen to what the inside of their body tells me through an endoscopy or colonoscopy,” Kim said. “I do not go with the one diagnosis fits all philosophy. I create an individualized plan that works for that person.”
He is certified with the American Board of Internal Medicine in Gastroenterology, and is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of GI Endoscopy, and New York Society of GI Endoscopy.
As a gastroenterologist, Kim manages diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver, including the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon and rectum, pancreas, gallbladder, bile ducts, and liver.
He performs colonoscopies, pill capsule and non-capsule endoscopies, polypectomies, and stent placements.
He has a page on Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s website at www.cphospital.org/providers/john-kim.
