New COVID-19 case reported to St. Lawrence County Public Health; county hits 200 infections

St. Lawrence County Public Health Department officials say they learned of one new COVID-19 case on Thursday, May 28, bringing the county's total to 200.

So far 183 patients have recovered and none are hospitalized.

St. Lawrence County hospitals have tested 8,271 as of Wednesday, Public Health said.

Public health reminds people that the New York on PAUSE order has been extended, barring non-essential gatherings of 10 or more people.

"If you are aware of any non-essential gatherings or any non-essential businesses or entities operating in violation of “New York on PAUSE” please call 1-833-789-0470 or go to: https://mylicense.custhelp.com/app/ask to file a complaint. The maximum fine for violations of the State’s social distancing protocols is $1,000," the department said.

Testing for COVID-19 can be arranged through local hospital systems. Call one of the following numbers between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. if you feel you should be tested. Tests are by appointment only:
