MORRISTOWN -- Morristown Central School has announced it has implemented an anonymous smartphone tip line app intended to relay information to administrators and school officials about bullying, hazing, drug use, and suspicious or potentially criminal activity.

The app from tip411, one of several similar products from various vendors, comes in professional law enforcement and school versions, according to a statement from Morristown Central School District School Resource Officer Shawn R. Shaver.

β€œThe mission of the Morristown Central School District is to prepare all students to confidently and competently pursue their goals and to demonstrate ethical responsibility to the world around them,” said Interim Morristown Superintendent Susan E. Todd. β€œ To fulfill that mission, we must provide a safe learning environment, and we believe our new MCSTips app will help keep our schools a safe place where students can learn and grow.”

MCSTips says its app is 100% anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before administrators see the tip and there is no way to identify the sender
