CANTON -- A Morley-area man has been killed in an accident this morning along the Morley-Potsdam Road just northeast of the Sykes Road in the Town of Canton.
The victim is identified as Jeffrey G. Hyde, 27, of 96 Morley-Potsdam Rd., Canton.
The St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Office reports a 911 call at 5:30 a.m. today about a truck overturned in a swamp off the road.
The sheriff's office says the truck had been traveling northwesterly when it went off the left shoulder, striking several trees and overturning several times, coming to rest on its top.
Hyde was pronounced dead at the scene by County Coroner Kevin Crosby.
The sheriff's office was assisted at the scene by Morley Fire and First Responder, Canton Fire and Rescue, and New York State Police.
The sheriff's investigation continues.
