WADDINGTON – Participants in the St. Lawrence International Jr. Carp Tournament caught 167 carp weighing 2,672 pounds this weekend with many local anglers, as well as particpants and marshalls from Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Virginia.

Anglers battled extreme heat as they competed for prizes along the St. Lawrence River. Organizers said the event set records and 77 percent of participants reeled in carp.

Results of the event follow:

• Most carp: Nicholas Burns, (13). (1) Friday, (12) Saturday!

• Sportsmanship Award: Olivia Caldwell, who graciously offered to move over from her very successful peg, so that another girl, who needed to be moved, could go there.
