Meet candidates for Lisbon Board of Education tonight at 6:30 p.m.

LISBON – Voters have a chance to meet the Lisbon Board of Education candidates tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the school auditorium.

Sevens candidates are running for four seats. Incumbents include Angela McClear, Larry Doyle, Becky Buckingham, and Nancy Addison.

New comers include Jennifer Gray, Nancy Adison, Nicole Lapage and John McBath.

Jennifer Gray is a Lisbon graduate and middle school English teacher at Heuvelton Central School with 16 years of experience in education.

Nancy Addison is Executive Director of Canton Day Care Center with three children who have graduated from the district and another in fourth grade.

Angela McLear is a teacher assistant at St. Lawrence-Lewis BOCES in the special education department.

Nicole Lapage is a school counselor with twins in fifth grade at Lisbon Central School. She says the school board is in need of fresh perspectives and new ideas.

James Larry Doyle has been on the Lisbon School Board of Education for 15 years. He is a retired psychiatric social worker.

John McBath is a Lisbon graduate with a son who attends Lisbon Central School as a sophomore. McBath is employed by the state department of corrections where he obtained his Master Instructor. He is an active volunteer in the fire department.

Becky Buckingham is a retired science teacher who taught at Lisbon Central School for 33 years. She has served one term on the board of education and is interested in rewriting dated school policies.
