LOUISVILLE -- A Massena man was released to probation supervision after his arrest for allegedly taking a vehicle without permission and slashing one of the tires when he returned it.
State police responded shortly before 7 p.m. Saturday to a residence on Kingsley Road in town of Louisville for a report of an unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
An investigation revealed that 31-year-old Adam T. Arno of Massena, took the victim’s car on the previous day at approximately 8 a.m., without the victim’s permission, refusing to return it, troopers said.
The vehicle was located at the victim’s residence Sunday at about 11:25 a.m., when she reported that Arno returned the vehicle, slashed one of the tires, and was attempting to break into her home.
Arno was arrested and charged with two counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was further ticketed for third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and operating without an interlock device.
Arno was arraigned at Town of Massena Court and released to the supervision of the probation department.
He is scheduled to appear in Town of Louisville Court on April 24.
State police were assisted by the Massena Village Police Department.
