MASSENA -- Several local churches are adapting to Governor Cuomo’s “pause” order to slow the spread of COVID-19, and opting to host their services online as live streams.

Greg Hurlbut, lead pastor for the New Testament Church in Massena, said parishioners there were able to attend live streams on the church’s Facebook page Sunday, March 22 for kid’s church hour from 10-11 a.m. and normal worship from 11-12.

The church also hosted its Cross Current Youth Ministries program online later at 6 p.m.

The programs are accessible at www.facebook.com/ntcmassena.

“We’ve been doing this for a couple years now and with everything being shutdown we’ve just moved completely to that. With churches having to close their physical doors I think many could find connection to God through technology. Anyway, thought I’d throw it out to you so people could be aware,” Hurlburt said.

For more information, call the church at 315-769-9951.

The Massena United Methodist Church is also hosting online services on both Facebook Live and Youtube Live, as well as by phone.

Pastor Rachael and Josh Barkley with Pastors Jim Foote, Donna Fitchette and Christian Remick led an online service Sunday, March 22.
