MASSENA – The Boy Scouts of America has opened its doors and activities to girls, and a new troop for girls is being organized in Massena.
Sarena and Marc Guerard say that girls will be part of an all-girl troop – not co-ed -- who will do the same curriculum as the boys. “All leaders adhere to stringent Youth Protection standard policy” set by the national organization, they said.
A flyer talks about “mastering your outdoor skills” and “helping the community,” and lists activities such as camping, hiking, swimming and dozens more.

They are also seeking additional adults to serve on the troop committee and as scout leaders.
