NORFOLK -- Town police say they recently charged a man with several counts stemming from his allegedly false claiming to have had money stolen.
Norfolk officers say they charged Patrick Burns with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, third-degree falsely reporting an incident and making a punishable false written statement.
Police say that Burns reported an individual had taken money from his residence without his consent.
Police say they investigated and found Burns purposefully gave false information to law enforcement.
He was issued an appearance ticket and scheduled to appear in Norfolk Town Court at a later date, police said.
