POTSDAM — A Madrid resident was charged with drunk driving Sunday morning following investigation of a hit-and-run accident involving a bicycle on Market Street, according to Potsdam police.
Braxton Chambers, 21, was charged with first-offense DWI and leaving the scene of a property-damage accident, officers said.
Officers reportedly responded to a report of an accident involved a vehicle and a bike and while en route police observed a motor vehicle with front-end damage.
The vehicle was later identified as the suspected vehicle.
The operator, Chambers, was found to be intoxicated following a traffic stop, police said.
Chambers was brought to the police station for processing, officers said. His blood-alcohol content (BAC) was .16 percent.
Chambers was cited and released.
