GOUVERNEUR – Kinney Drugs has again expanded its “Love Local” product assortment with local distilleries Beak & Skiff of Lafayette, NY and Smugglers’ NotchnDistillery of Jeffersonville, VT by offering their house-made hand sanitizer.
“Globally, hand sanitizer is in high demand and extremely short supply. We are proud to have talented vendors who saw an opportunity to play a critical role in fighting the spread of COVID-19 by converting their distilleries to the production of hand sanitizer,” said Rick Cognetti, Kinney’s VP of Merchandising, Marketing & Retail Operations.
In March, the FDA released a temporary policy for the preparation of certain alcohol-based hand sanitizer products.
“Both Smugglers’ Notch Distillery and Beak & Skiff took quick action to prioritize the production of this desperately needed item for our communities. We were happy to offer their products in addition to the hand sanitizer made by Clayton Distillery [Clayton, NY] that we introduced a few weeks ago,” added Cognetti.
Smugglers’ Notch Distillery hand sanitizer landed on Kinney’s shelves April 15th and is available in 4 oz. bottles. Of the 500,000 total bottles produced by Beak & Skiff, Kinney has taken in 20,000 12oz. bottles, available for purchase in stores now.
These new products are some of the newest additions to Kinney’s four-year-old “Love Local” program.
