OGDENSBURG -- United Helpers recently hosted international speaker, author, trainer and consultant Carol Weisman.
Weisman is president of Board Builders and specializes in volunteerism, fund raising and governance. She has worked with a wide range of clients, served on 32 boards and has been president of 7.
Weisman provided a half-day seminar, combining witticisms, funny stories and good old common sense ideas to ensure that every participant walked away with a few morsels to ponder. Among her audience members were several members of the United Helpers’ Board of Directors, Unit Memberships and Leadership staff.
“We were very fortunate to bring Carol (Weisman) to the North Country,” said Lori Smithers, Development Director for United Helpers. “The training we received was extremely valuable and insightful. It is always good to recharge your batteries. Carol was able to energize us, as well as guide us toward the future.”
Weisman provided a free training session for the United Helpers organization as part of her on-going commitment to not-for-profits. She commits to providing twelve free programs per year.
