Current Superintendent Karen Carswell will retire this year, leaving the position vacant.

The two finalists are Regina Yeo and Douglas McQueer. Regina Yeo currently serves as Superintendent of Schools at Clifton-Fine Central School District, a position she has held since 2013. Prior to this position, she served as the elementary principal at Berne-Knox-Westerlo Central School, and Holley Central School’s elementary principal.

Douglas McQueer currently serves as the superintendent of schools at Morristown Central School, a position he has held since 2018.

Prior to this position, he served as the interim principal and athletic director for Morristown. He also served as Superintendent of Schools at Hammond Central School from 2006 to 2013. On Wednesday, May 15 the finalists will meet with representatives from administration, teachers, and school related personnel groups.

On Thursday, May 16 there will be a community meet and greet.

At 5:30 p.m. McQueer will provide a 15-minute presentation followed by a 15-minute question and answer period. Yeo will provide her presentation and question and answer period at 6 p.m. Both sessions will be held in the library of the school.

The board of education will meet following the public presentations on Thursday to discuss feedback from district stakeholders and the public. Salary and start date will be negotiated upon selection of the successful candidate.
