GOUVERNEUR – A Gouverneur woman is charged with receiving $4,688.76 in social services benefits to which she was not entitled.

Brenda L. Miller, 42, 48 William St., was arrested this morning by members of the St. Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office following an investigation by the St. Lawrence County Department of Social Services Investigations Unit.

Investigators charge that Miller submitted a Food Stamps application that contained false information.

Miller is charged with receiving $4,688.76 in Food Stamps and medical assistance benefits from April to September 2009 that she should not have received, according to investigators.

Miller was arraigned in Town of Fowler Court and held on $2,500 bail for a court appearance later.
