Gouverneur and Ogdensburg men finished in first and second place at the Northern New York Bassmasters third stop of the season on Lake Ontario at Chaumont Bay on Saturday, July 11.

“Lake Ontario has been a record-breaking lake in recent years and this year did not disappoint, Brad Paradis said.

Two bags of smallmouth over 23 pounds were weighed in to take the top two spots.

The team of Jessie Spellicy and Aziel Snyder, Gouveneur, earned top honors with 23.58 pounds and Brad Paradis and Robert Paradis, Ogdensburg, placed second with 23.25 pounds

They topped the field with the third and seventh heaviest bags of fish ever weighed in Northern New York Bassmasters club history, Brad Paradis said.

Team Paradis also had the lunker of the day, a 6.28 lb smallmouth caught by Robert Paradis which also joined the record books as the second largest bass to come to the scales in club history.
