CLIFTON – New York State Forest Rangers rescued a snowmobiler injured in an accident on the Grass River Easement on Feb. 15.

The state Department of Conservation said Forest Rangers Will Benzel, Peter Morehouse, and Nathan Shea responded to the location to assist Cranberry Lake Fire and Rescue after the DEC Ray Brook Dispatch received a report of the accident around 10:02 a.m.

A 26-year-old male snowmobiler from Pennsylvania sustained significant injuries after being ejected from his snowmobile after hitting a tree, DEC said.

The man was flown from the accident site by Life Flight at around 12:15 p.m. to a nearby hospital and all personnel were cleared of the scene.
