Five new COVID-19 cases in St. Lawrence County, one more recovery

St. Lawrence County Public Health Department reports five new COVID-19 cases were reported Sunday, April 26, and one more person has recovered.

There are a total of 176 cases in the county so far, with 83 total recoveries, public health said.

Seven people are hospitalized with the disease, according to public health.

As of April 25, 1,419 people have been tested. That's the most recent date for which data is available, public health said.

"St. Lawrence County is still seeing an increase in cases, and want to stress that we have not reached our peak. It is VERY IMPORTANT all residents continue to stay home as much as possible, wear a face covering and stay 6 feet away from others when venturing out for groceries, medical care, or work, wash hands with soap for 20 seconds often, and clean & disinfect commonly touched surfaces regularly," Public Health said.

Testing is being done through both St. Lawrence Health Systems and Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center. Testing is by appointment only. Call the hotline numbers below between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. if you have symptoms or feel you should be tested:
