CANTON -- A Canton woman with charges pending from a statewide drug sweep was sentenced to prison for a separate drug case on Friday.

Hillary Gilson, 33, will spend five years in prison with two years of post-release supervision after pleading guilty in October to two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a narcotic drug, one count of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of second-degree criminal use of drug paraphernalia.

She will be able to participate in the state's shock incarceration program, when eligible.

A grand jury indicted her for the offenses on July 19, 2018.

She is represented by the St. Lawrence County Public Defender's Office.

Gilson is facing unrelated charges in a drug sweep last month authorities have dubbed Operation Central City. She and about 20 co-defendants are facing numerous felony charges in that case stemming from alleged narcotics sales and conspiracies to sell narcotics in the North Country.

In other St. Lawrence County Court action before Judge Jerome Richards on Friday:

• The case of an Ogdensburg man charged with having multiple one-pot meth labs has been adjourned while he seeks a recommendation for drug treatment. Aaron Carson-Guess, 29, is facing a charge of third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine. He appeared in St. Lawrence County Court on Friday, and Judge Richards adjourned the case, pending the recommendation. Carson-Guess and co-defendants Kenneth Reese and Teresa Tynon were arrested in March after city police said they found multiple active one-pot meth labs at 1110 Knox St., Ogdensburg. Reece is being held at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, pending a future court appearance. He is represented by attorney Brian Barrett of Lake Placid.

• Megan Dunning of Potsdam waived her right to have the case go before a grand jury and pleaded guilty to felony aggravated driving while intoxicated. She will be sentenced at a later date. She was charged in March after troopers said she drove drunk with a child in the vehicle on March 2 on Perrin Road. She is represented by the St. Lawrence County Public Defender's Office.
