St. Lawrence County Coroner James M. Sienkiewycz says that the death of one of two people killed in a vehicle crash in Akwesasne was accidental.
Amber Lynn Aliff, 19, of 282 Helena Road, died early Wednesday morning at Massena Memorial Hospital from multiple internal injuries she suffered in a motor vehicle accident on the North Road in Hogansburg at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sienkiewycz said in a statement Thursday afternoon.
The autopsy on Aliff, 19, was performed by Dr. Samuel Livingston Wednesday evening at Massena Memorial Hospital.
Dakota Benedict of Akwesasne, 22, a passenger, was declared dead at the scene.
Sienkiewycz ruled the death of Aliff accidental. That was the only death in this case he handled.
He said he is waiting for results of toxicology tests, which will take six to eight weeks.
Another passenger, Sidney Oakes of Akwesasne, was at last report in critical condition at Burlington’s Fletcher-Allen Health Care.
