CANTON -- The New York State Builders Association and SUNY Canton's Career Ready Education and Success Training Center will offer safety specialty training for construction site workers and supervisors Nov. 7 and Nov. 8.

The two-day Occupational Safety and Health Act construction site safety course will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nevaldine South, room 133.

The course will provide an introduction to OSHA standards and general health and safety provisions. Other topics will include personal protective equipment, tools, scaffolds, cranes and conveyors, excavations, stairways, and ladders.

Participants will receive a safety training card, which does not expire. The state requires all construction site personnel to attend an OSHA 10-hour training for state-funded construction projects in excess of $250,000.

The fee is $180 per person for NYSBA members and $235 for non-members.
