CANTON -- The Canton Farmer’s Market was recently awarded a $440 grant from the Canton Community Fund for the purchase of a tent sign, vendor plot, sandwich board, and display items for the market’s information table.
The aim of these funds is to emphasize the value of supporting local agriculture, facilitate the relationship between growers and producers and the consumer, provide education about the nutritional advantages of locally produced fresh products, showcase the market as a vital and vibrant gathering place to build community, and continue the increase in the use of programs which provide market access to those who are economically disadvantaged.
Members of the Canton Farmer’s Market expressed gratitude to the Canton Community Fund for this support of their members and the larger community which they serve.
The Canton Farmers Market runs through Oct. 29, on Tuesdays from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
