OGDENSBURG – The Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary Gift Shop recently offered a one-day sale, featuring Vera Bradley items as well as Halia and Bauble Lu Beads, and took in over $5,700.
The sales represented an all-time one-day sales record for the shop since its inception back in the 1950’s.
Agnes Lightfoot, auxilian and Gift Shop co-chair, suggested two factors that may have helped boost sales.
First, customers spending $100 in total merchandise had their names entered into a drawing for a Vera Bradley Tote and matching ID case valued at $58.
Claxton-Hepburn employee payroll deductions may have been another contributing factor in the success of the sale with many employees taking advantage of it.
Carol Lytle, a nurse at Claxton-Hepburn, was the winner of the drawing. Shown in the photo presenting the Vera Bradley tote to Lytle (right) is Lightfoot.
The Gift Shop offers a variety of unique gifts at reasonable prices. Some items they feature are Vera Bradley, Viva, Halia and Bauble Lu beads, baby gifts and Elf on a Shelf—just in time for Christmas.
The Gift Shop is open Monday through Friday from 9-4 p.m. and on most evenings from 6-8 p.m., and is open most weekends, depending on volunteer availability.
