POTSDAM — Like the three other St. Lawrence County colleges, Clarkson University will now finish its spring semester by moving to online learning.
“Clarkson continues to monitor information from local, state and federal representatives regarding COVID-19. Based on current information, there are no reported cases of COVID-19 in the Clarkson University community,” a press release from the college said.
“With a new ban just issued by New York State on gatherings and additional restrictions on environments with a higher density of people, we are asking all students to plan for online instruction starting March 23,” officials said.
NCAA President Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors canceled all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships, therefore, the Golden Knights Men’s and Women’s Ice Hockey seasons are also over and spring sports suspended.
“We recognize that global news and additional directives from local, state and federal representatives continue to come in that may require alternative courses of action,” CU officials said. “We will be making decisions based on when in-classroom instruction can resume as well as University activities as we review those directives.
