POTSDAM — CJ's Kegs Cases & More is now under new ownership.

The business was owned by Steve and Kathy Warr and John and Carol Fries. The new owner is business Griff’s Beverage, which also operates a bottle redemption and drink store in Watertown.

“We would like to extend a very grateful thank you for your 25 years of support and love throughout our years of business,” The Warr and Fries families said in a prepared statement. “As a small family owned business in Potsdam, you all made CJ’S the store it became and we will never forget that loyalty. CJ’S was a passion of ours that we wanted to share with Potsdam nearly three decades ago, and you all made it your local beer home and bottle redemption center. To say we enjoyed meeting you all and seeing you over the years is an understatement.”

The owners said it was never easy competing with Wal-Mart, but its customers made CJ’S their store for family celebrations and holiday parties.

“Please continue to support the new owners, Griff’s Beverages, making them your continued beverage store of choice,” the former owners said. “Stop in, say hello, check out the changes and pick up a six pack. Cheers!”
