Monday, September 26, 2011 - 5:21 pm

CANTON -- The Canton Central School Garden Project team has organized activities to celebrate Farm to You Fest, a statewide event highlighting local food and agriculture in schools.

The festivities will kick off in all district cafeterias on Sept. 29. Ingredients for this lunch will come from the school garden, local farms and regional distributors.

On Oct. 6, Banford Elementary classes are invited to participate in a variety of food-focused activities. Relay races, taste tests, and garden tasks will be offered. High school agriculture students will assist and resources provided by the Health Initiative will support these activities. School garden project volunteers and supporters will be honored in appreciation of their valuable contributions.
