Canton Central School BoE approves several appointments, a resignation and names budget vote inspectors

CANTON – The Canton Central Board of Education accepted a resignation and made several appointments at its April 5 meeting.

Lyle Newman resigned from the position of unpaid girls’ varsity lacrosse coach for the spring 2018 season.

Joshua Briggs was appointed long-term substitute for mathematics teacher, Laurey Rosser, effective retroactively to March 20 through on or about April 6 at a rate of $105 per day for the first ten days (to be paid $217 per day retroactive to the first of ten consecutive days, which does not include days when school is not in session).

Sara Elliott was approved as a long-term substitute for teacher aide, Kierstin Sovie, effective on or about April 17, through on or about May 29, at a rate of $10.50 per hour.

Amy Belonge was appointed as a substitute school bus driver, effective April 6, at a rate of $17.75 per hour.

Lisa Guild approved as a bus monitor/attendant, effective April 6, at a rate of $10.50 per hour,pending final administrative approval.

Substitutes for positions for which they are certified or qualified: Emily Cowles, not certified; Marci Silver, certified.

Clerks and inspectors for the 2018 annual budget vote on May 15: Chief inspector, Janyce Frank; clerk, Autumn F. Stearne; inspectors, Diane K. Casey, Connie W. Fountain, Joyce A. Wood, and Linda S. Hollenbaugh; alternate inspectors, Tari L. Briggs and Caitlin Hill Gollinger.
