CANTON — The Canton Central School Board of Education made several appointments, accepted a resignation and approved a $500 donation at its Jan. 17 meeting.
The board approved the resignation of John White from the position of custodial worker, effective Jan. 13
School board members appointed Alexander Watson from cleaner to custodial worker, effective Jan. 17, at a prorated salary of $38,596.
Justin Perry was approved as a motor equipment mechanic/school bus driver, effective on or about Feb. 3, at a prorated salary of $44,772.
Ellen Recinos will serve as a French teacher, probationary tenure track position, effective Sept. 1, 2020 through Aug. 31, 2022, at a salary of $56,715.
Mark Foote was appointed by the board as a substitute mechanic, effective retroactively to Jan. 9, at a rate of $13 per hour.
Ronald Shirtz was appointed as a substitute for positions in which he is certified or qualified.
The board also accepted a $500 donation from the American Chemical Society to increase the budget for high school science.
