Included in the budget is funding for a new armed in-school police officer, a mental health counselor and an additional elementary school teacher. For more on the police officer position, view earlier story here.
Seven positions are slated for replacement including an elementary teacher, elementary music teacher, special education teacher, science teacher, technology teacher and two teaching assistants.
The budget represents a 6.7 percent increase compared to this year’s $29.1 million, but the board is expected to make some adjustments prior to voting.
Also at the meeting, the board is expected to elect members of the Board of Coooperative Education Services (BOCES) and be asked to approve adoption of the $6.9 million BOCES administration budget for 2018-19.
The board meets at 6:45 p.m. in the high school Learning Resource Center.
