CANTON – The Canton Town Board has authorized Supervisor Mary Ann Ashley to close out two open unused accounts in the town’s finances and transfer the funds to the general fund.
An account holding $19.58 for the town highway barn capital project, which has been long completed, will be closed.
Ashley will also shut down an account holding $920 in unclaimed bail money which has been open for almost 7 years. If a responsible party comes forward to claim the bail money before November, the board will pass a resolution authorizing a payment of the funds to the correct party.
