DEKALB JUNCTION -- County sheriff's deputies charged an Ogdensburg woman with animal cruelty Thursday, Nov. 7.
Sandra D. Maimone, 59, of 403 Hasbrouck St., Apt. A, was charged with the misdemeanor offense after investigation of a Nov. 5 complaint, said the sheriff's department.
The sheriff's department reports that Maimone allegedly moved out of her former residence at 4232 County Route 17, DeKalb, in the spring of 2019 after the house went into foreclosure.
She was unable to take her animals to her new residence in Ogdensburg, and left them at the DeKalb address, deputies said.

Maimone failed to provide proper sustenance, or a clean living area for the animals, which included 5 cats and 1 rabbit, said deputies. The animals were surrendered to animal control and turned over to the St. Lawrence SPCA.
Maimone was ticketed and is scheduled to appear in DeKalb town court at a later date.
