A Potsdam native who has been skating with a New Hampshire Eastern Hockey League team has been tapped by the University of New Hampshire to join the Wildcats for the 2018 season.
Corson Green, a 16-year-old defenseman with the EHL Premier Team the Northern Cyclones in Hudson, N.H., played on the under-16 U.S. National team. He is a six-foot-three-inch 207-pounder who shoots left-handed.
After a season with the Canadian National Hockey Academy, Corson had to choose between Ontario major juniors and a slot on the U16 national team through the Cyclones. His U16 team, which gave him exposure to an array of coaches and organizations, made it as far as the New England district championship.
Corson will be joining the Wildcats, a Division I Hockey East league team, in 2018.
Among the online analyses of his performance, GoalLine.ca’s Facebook page calls Corson a good two-way defenseman with strong mobility, puck skills, a powerful shot, “and a pro upside.”
