Franklin, MA – Trenton Yule recorded five points including scoring the game-winner with three minutes, 40 seconds remaining to lift the SUNY Canton men's lacrosse team to an 11-10 win at Dean College on Saturday.
The Roos (9-4) jumped out to a 2-1 lead 10 minutes in but four straight goals gave the Bulldogs a 5-2 advantage early in the second quarter. Canton responded with three straight goals from Luke DeGaetano, Yule and Kyle Smith to head into intermission tied at five.
The teams traded four goals each in the third quarter to head to the final 15 minutes tied at nine. Brad Sandroni netted a man-up goal 3:05 into the final quarter and Smith found Yule for his 35th goal of the season with 4:30 remaining which proved to be the game-winner.
Yule and Smith led all players with five points each as Yule totaled three goals and two assists and Smith finished with two goals and three assists. DeGaetano posted a goal and three assists, Sandroni scored twice, and Dante Coco added a goal and assist.
Colin Hinrichs led Dean with four goals and Anthony Trasacco added three goals and one assist.
Kody Kocsis made 12 saves in the win, while Madison Olsen turned aside 10 shots in the loss.
