The visitors jumped out to a 21-10 lead 7:25 into the contest but the Roos chipped away at the lead and ended the half on a 9-2 run to take a 43-40 lead into intermission.

For the game, Romario Fletcher led the Roos with 24 points and seven rebounds on 9-for-13 shooting, while Williams totaled 16 points going 4-for-6 from behind the arc. Sam Annorh and Rashad Richardson chipped in 13 points apiece, while Annorh dished out a game-high eight assists.

Both teams shot the ball well as the Roos hit on 57 percent of their shots, 53 percent of their three-pointers (10-for-19) and 75 percent from the foul line. Alfred State shot 45 percent from the floor.

The Roos coaches also wore gold shoe laces and sneakers at today's game to raise awareness for pediatric cancer and Lacey's Legacy.

"What an exciting finish to our game," Head Coach Ben Thompson said. "Credit to our guys for battling through a tough gae against Alfred State. To win on a day where we honored the Coaches v. Cancer program made it even more special. We also wanted to honor Lacey Holsworth, who's brave battle against childhood cancer inspired so many. This one was for you, Lacey! #LaceUpForLacey"

The men's basketball team is off until February 7th when they host SUNY Potsdam at 7 p.m. in the Roos House.
