Rochester, NY – The Roos battled taking the RIT Tigers to five sets, and the SUNY Poly Wildcats to four sets at the first day of the Rochester Volleyball Invitational on Friday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
MATCH 1
The Roos took a thrilling match into five sets but ultimately fell to the Tigers. They took sets one and four both by a score of 25-23 while falling in set two 25-12, set three 25-17 and set five 15-8.
Jenna Roat paced the match with 29 digs, while Tatum Lafrance finished the match with 15 assists.
Melissa McMaster and Marissa Ixtlahuac posted 8 and 6 kills respectively.
MATCH 2
SUNY Canton took the second set, 25-22, but the Wildcats earned victories in the first (25-18), third (25-15) and fourth (25-22) sets.
Skye Hansen and McMaster totaled six kills apiece for the Roos. Jenna Roat posted match-highs of 17 digs and four service aces.
Ashton Houppert dished out a team-best 17 assists, while Peyton Nadeau totaled 11 digs.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Roos return to action in the Rochester Volleyball Invitational on Saturday at the University of Rochester. SUNY Canton takes on Rochester and Nazareth at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively.
