Pittsford, NY – The SUNY Canton women's lacrosse team closed out a historic season with a 16-3 loss to No. 15/21 nationally-ranked Brockport in the NCAA Championship First Round on Saturday at Growney Stadium on the campus of St. John Fisher College.
The Roos finish the 2019 season with a school record 14 wins and became the first SUNY Canton team to earn a berth in an NCAA Championship.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Brockport opened up a 5-0 lead just over seven minutes in as five Golden Eagles found the back of the net.
Jessica Pele got the Roos on the board converting off a free-position shot just more than 10 minutes into the contest.
The Eagles rattled off seven more unanswered goals to take a 12-1 lead into intermission.
MaryClare Bowes fed Logan Bush for a score and Pele followed with her second score of the game to trim the deficit to single digits. Brockport scored four goals to secure the victory.
Molly Denny led all players with five ground balls Cecelia Neally had a team-high two caused turnovers. Pele and Bush produced a game-high four draw controls each as the Roos held the upper hand in draws, 12-8.
Jade Williams led Brockport with four goals, while Sara Grapevine had a goal and four assists and Chloe Kurst added two goals and three assists.
Madison Leary took the loss for the Roos, while Nicole Piskorowski made 12 saves over the final 50 minutes. Morgan Elmer made seven stops in the win for the Eagles.
