Saints nordic team top three continue to shine Saturday at UNH Carnival

Lucy Hochschartner finished 25th in the women's race, and Calvin Swomley was 36th in the men's race to lead the St. Lawrence University Nordic skiing team on day two of the UNH Winter Carnival at Jackson Touring Center on Saturday.

The top three from Friday carried over to Saturday, as Hochschartner finished the 15-kilometer classic course with a time of 46 minutes, 25.5 seconds to score 19 points for the Saints. Dana Hatton was 55th in 17:28.1 for seven points, and Danielle Laird was 65th in 51:30.9 for six points.

Kate Andy (71st, 52:43.1), Emily Siegel (78th, 54:54.9), Jordan Tanguay (81st, 57:13.3), Madi Schriefer (85th, 1:02:05.3) also placed on Saturday.

Swomley finished the men's 20K free style in 53:36.5, earning 14 points. Dustin Ramsay finished 48th with a time of 54:44.5 adding eight points and Blaine Ayotte was 69th in 57:24.4.

Brendan Cyr (71st, 57:29.8), Ryan Young (80th, 1:00:11.6), and Matthew Young (83rd, 1:01:35.4) also competed on Saturday for the Saints.

The Saints will be back in action as they travel to the Trapp Family Lodge for the UVM Carnival next weekend.
