(Canton, N.Y.)- Sophomore Justin Richardson (Pavilion, N.Y.) finished as the top SUNY Canton runner for the third straight meet on Saturday at the Ronald C. Hoffman Invitational at St. Lawrence University.
Richardson turned in a personal best time for the Hoffman Invitational as he finished in 25th place against a very strong field of runners. Richardson finished the 8K race in a time of 28:14, nearly 38 seconds faster than he ran in last year's race and the second fastest time he has recorded in his career.
Dylan Barringer (Walkill, N.Y.) also had a strong run as he recorded a personal-best time of 30:15 to finish in 54th place overall.
Graham Stone (Norwood, N.Y.) finished in 65th place in a time of 31:53. Scott Jeffers (Livonia, N.Y.) and
Gregory Ashe (Watertown, N.Y.) finished 14 seconds apart at 32:36 and 32:50 for 72nd and 73rd place. Joel Landry (Malone, N.Y.) (33:40), Jeffrey Marquart (Canton, N.Y.) (33:45) and Tyler Morse (North Creek, N.Y.) (33:56) also ran on Saturday.
St. Lawrence won the men's title after taking the top five places led by overall winner Jeremy Mwenda.
The Roos will run in their final regular season meet next Saturday at the Cross Country Only Colleges Invitational at Hobart William Smith and then will host the Sunrise Conference Championships on October 30.
