Relays post Top-20 nordic ski finishes for Saints on Day Two at Dartmouth

The St. Lawrence University Nordic Ski team posted two EISA top-20 finishes in the men's and women's 3x5 kilometer relays on day two of the Dartmouth College Carnival at Oak Hill in Hanover, New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon.

Lucy Hochscharter (16:51.7), Steph Nicols (18:20.1) and Jackie Garso (17:47.0) posted the top result for the Saints' women's squad in the 3x5 relay event on Saturday. The three combined for a final time of 52 minutes and 59.0 seconds to earn 14th place and 39 points for the Scarlet and Brown.

Kate Andy (18:11.4), Jordi Kulis (19:18.9) and Erin Waters (18:51.3) combined for a final time of 56:21.6 for 22nd place.

Brian Beyerbach (14:21.0), Nataniel Perkins (15:26.1) and Timothy Cunningham (15:17.3) led the Saints' men's squad in the 3x5 relay with a final time of 45:24.2, earning 32 points for the Saints.

Graham Branch (16:30.2), George-Henry Werowinski (16:06.2) and Matthew Young (16:03.7) posted a 26th-place finish in 48:40.3.

"We had really difficult icy conditions today," said head coach Ethan Townsend '98 M '01. "With a little luck and we would have done considerably better perhaps. It was the best effort I've seen from the men's team this season even though the results won't show it."

The women finished closed the carnival in 10th place, while the men's finished 11th.
